Welcome to Karson’s Journey. I am so glad you found us. Whatever it is that has brought you here I believe God’s hand is in the guiding and I hope you find this site to be just what you were looking for and all that you need it to be at this time in your life.
When I first let myself dream about having a website dedicated to our daughter, Karson, I thought it would be a site devoted mostly to stories about death and sharing how my child died and your child died. I thought I would find comfort in hearing other people’s similar stories and that in our shared grief we could begin to do some healing.

It has now been several years since I started to dream and at last something has actually made it on to the web and although I would still like to hear your stories and share mine with you, my focus has changed. Approximately four years after we lost our daughter, my eldest stepdaughter and her husband had a baby named Cy Douglas—our first grandson. When Cy passed away at just five days old I realized I wanted this website to be about something more than death, we’ve had enough of that to last us a lifetime-literally. Instead I want it to be about celebrating life—weather it is five days, 12 days, or ten years—and the miracles that make up those days, as they are treasures to be told. Some of us will have our children’s death in common but all of us will have their lives in common. They are precious gifts from the moment of conception and each one of their stories is beautiful. I hope that you will take the time to browse through this site. Read about our Karson. Enjoy the other wonderful children. Glean encouragement from our inspirational pages and please by all means take the time to share your story with us too.

So much of the world spends its days dwelling on the bad. Here is an opportunity to find good in something that from the first look seems so tragic. I believe that is what life is about. It is why we are here—to learn, to lean, but most of all to love with all of our hearts.
